We were asked to design a “new education, sport and tourism area” of 12 ha near Peja/Pec, an important commercial and agricultural centre for Kosovo. The programme demanded Faculties of Economics and Agronomy, tourism and hotel facilities, students’ and generic housing, parking lots, offices etc. Our project developed a semi-open and mixed-use space, a great winter garden defined by modular slabs on both sides (containing dwellings, offices and specific labs), which could act as a common and fluid environment for students, visitors and researchers.
