In this empty area at the gates of Milan historical core and originated form the dismantling of a railway, we lifted up the ground and put some dwellings, and a space for exhibitions, underneath. We thereafter ‘cut’ the surface, generating two empty stripes, providing a source of light for the apartments. As a result, public areas lay on the rooftop of the residential spaces, giving citizens plenty of space to enjoy, thanks to a very soft gradient.
